Campaigners in Galway are organising a Freedom from Torture festival.

The Street Parade will be lead by a 10-metre dragon keeping the flame of hope alive. Drummers, jugglers and flame throwers will be joining the parade, which starts at Eyre Square and ends at Spanish Arch. There will be a concert and picnic with performers and activities at Spanish Arch.

Start: 18:30
End: 20:30

We will be assembling at the Daniel O'Connell statue on O'Connell Street at the quays in Dublin and hope to form a single line of people all the way up to the Parnell monument and beyond.

As far as possible, people should wear orange clothing as we only have a limited number of the jumpsuits. We will provide signs. Bring your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours etc. We need as many bodies as possible to make the strongest statement possible to the Irish, British, American and other governments. Torture must end.

Millions of volunteers needed but we will settle for thousands :)

Please sign up to join the demonstration. Email Sandra – sscotthayward@amnesty.ie

Start: 19:30
End: 21:30

For more information, please contact Amnesty Wexford Group – Cáit Branigan – 086 8550734.

The EU establishment wants to force a re-run of the Lisbon referendum in Ireland...

Come tell French President Nicolas Sarkozy

NO MEANS NO!

Monday July 21 at 12.30 Meet at Government Buildings - Merrion Square

Start: 21:57

dear friends of direct democracy, peace and ecology!

there are very good alternatives to lisbon treaty!

this alternatives like an eco-moneysystem, referendum on EU-level...  the assembly can discuss and present after that results to europeans for voting on it by referendum.

for example the german supreme court (bundesverfassungsgericht) will decide my case concerning lisbon-treaty , assembly + referendum autumn or winter 2008.

please help to realize that strategy of "power to the people" by supporting my engagement in the way you like.
