The local peace group was founded over 7 years ago to oppose Ireland playing any part in George W. Bush’s so-called “war on terror” and has consistently opposed Shannon airport being used by the US armed forces travelling to war in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as for CIA planes involved in the “extraordinary rendition” programme.

To mark the 6th anniversary of the commencement of the Imperialist US war on Iraq and the total destruction and termination of the long standing policy of Irish Neutrality by the Fianna Fail Government by their decision to allow President Bush (a great President according to Fianna Fail Taoiseach Mr. Ahern) to use Shannon Airport in that war, PANA has organised a Peace Forum on the 21st of March 2009 from 1.00pm to 5.30pm
It will be preceded by a Press Conference at 12.00noon and lunch will be available at the Park Inn for abou €10
