On Tuesday 10th November 2009, as part of the international Week of Solidarity Against the Apartheid Walls in Palestine and Siege of Gaza the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign is proud to present an Irish Premiere screening of the documentary "Bassem Abu Rahmah - Story of a Martyr". The screening of this short documentary will be followed by a question and answers session with Evie Soli and Pete St. John Jones, two international activists who have been a part of the non-violent resistance movement in the West Bank village of Bil'in.
The film will start at 7.30pm in the Pearse Centre, 27 Pearse St, Dublin 2.

The screening will take place on Wednesday 11th November at 7.30pm in the Absolute Hotel, Sir Harry's Mall, Limerick.

As part of the IPSC's Week of Solidarity Against Apartheid Walls in Palestine and Against the Siege of Gaza, the Kilkenny branch of the IPSC are proud to host a public meeting with Irish activists from the Irish sections of Viva Palestina and the Free Gaza Movement. VP and the FGM will be taking part in the international siege breaking convergence on Gaza that will coincide with the anniversary of Israel’s 2008/09 winter attack on the besieged coastal strip
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 11th November at 8pm in the Club House Hotel, Kilkenny.

On Thursday 12th November 2009, as part of the international Week of Solidarity Against the Apartheid Walls in Palestine and Siege of Gaza we will be holding a fundraiser pub quiz in aid of the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. It will start at 8pm in Brokers Bar on Dame Street (near the Central Bank Plaza).
Cost for entry is €10 per person, with teams of 4 to 5 people maximum.
Please come along (and bring your friends!) and support the work of the IPSC in our struggle for justice for the Palestinian people. We depend on your support!
(And don't worry, it won't be a quiz made up of just questions about the Middle East!)

On Saturday 14th November the IPSC will hold a National Rally Against Apartheid in Palestine & The Siege of Gaza. We are asking people to assemble at 2pm at the Spire on O'Connell Street and to bring banners, placards etc.
The rally will be followed by at 4pm by a public meeting in The Teachers' Club, Parnell Square, Dublin 1.

In this lecture, Ron Large will examine how leaders and policy makers used language to shape the moral world of the Vietnam War and the war in Iraq. Ron Large is an Associate Professor in the Department of Religious Studies at Gonzaga College in Spokane, Washington. He is currently a visiting Fulbright Scholar in the International Peace Studies programme at the Irish School of Ecumenics, Trinity College Dublin.

The Irish Anti War movement is pleased to welcome to Dublin British serviceman, Lance Corporal Joe Glenton, a courageous objector to the NATO led occupation of Afghanistan.
At the risk of imprisonment, Joe Glenton feels he can no longer be part of this phoney war on terror. He will recount how his experience of the new military surge in Afghanistan proved to be the final straw and he could do it no more.
Ireland too has blood on its hands. Military personnel are aiding "counter-insurgency" in Afghanistan. Joe Glenton's stand is a heroic example for all of those military who can no longer support this costly, inhumane and unwinable war.

After 6 months of fundraising, 4 teams from all across Ireland will leave their hometowns on Friday December 4th, to travel 4,000 miles to Gaza, to deliver Ambulances and Humanitarian aid to the stricken region. They will then leave Ireland (via Dublin Port) at 9pm on Saturday 5th December.
There will be a short 'send off' and photo opportunity taking place at 7pm in the Dublin Port Topaz Service Station (at the intersection of Bond Drive and Promenade St - map here:

Danbar Toys, an Israeli company selling remote control toys, are now trading in the Blanchardstown shopping Centre. All products bear the '729' Israeli barcode.
I have been in touch with The Northside People newspaper about this and they have agreed to cover the story. They have asked that we organise a short demonstration out side the shopping centre in order to produce a good photo opportunity and a focal point for the story.
This protest is planned for 6.30-7pm on Wednesday 9th December at the Blue Entrance to the shopping centre (near the cimenas, theatre and Leasureplex). It will not be a loud or obtrusive gathering, but we hope that the impact of the media coverage will raise awareness of Israel's apartheid regime and the BDS campaign.
