Speakers Mick Napier, Chair of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign While this meeting was planned months ago, the Israeli attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla which left at least 9 people dead, has given added impetus to the subject, as Israel finds itself at the receiving end of a tide of increased BDS actions. The IPSC encourages all those who want to take practical action to end Israel’s crimes against the Palestinians people - and now their international supporters – to attend this session and get involved in the BDS campaign in Ireland. About the speakers Mick Napier is Chairperson of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign. He first visited Palestine during the First Intifada, and founded the SPSC at the beginning of the second. He was a prime mover behind the publication of the Cairo Declaration earlier this year, and the SPSC has been at the forefront of BDS in Britain over the past five years. Kamel Hawwash is a British Palestinian Academic from Jerusalem working at the University of Birmingham. He is the Vice Chair of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign; Chair of the Birmingham Ramallah Twinning Initiative; Chair of the Britian-Palestine Twinning Network and a member of the Board of trustees of Friends of Birzeit University.
